Top 10 Minecraft Mods
Top 10 Minecraft Mods
1. Alex's Mobs
Alex's Mobs is a Forge mod that adds 71 new mobs to Minecraft. All of these mobs fall into either two categories: most of them are real world creatures, like Grizzly Bears, Roadrunners, Orcas, etc; but some of them are purely fictional, like the Endergade and Bone Serpent, yet do not feel out of place in Minecraft. All of these creatures fulfill a necessary purpose, and either have unique drops, mechanics or functions, as there are no purely aesthetic creatures. That said, they also help make some environments in the game feel more alive. The models, textures, animations and AI are all meant to seamlessly integrate with the vanilla game without stylistic clashes.
The new mobs currently added are as follows (fantastical mobs in blue, real-world ones in black, boss mobs in red):
Effective is a client-side Fabric mod that adds various visual and auditory effects lacking in Vanilla Minecraft to improve overall ambience and feel of the game. Currently, it adds water and lava splashes to entities falling in liquids, as well as cascade visual and sound effects
3.Create
When installing mods manually, make sure to add Flywheel to the mods folder alongside it. (Not required on Servers as of 1.18.1-0.4d)
Mod-launcher clients such as Curse or GDLauncher will do this automatically.
4.Tetra
Tetra revolves around modular items and attempts to blend it together with other concepts such as adventure and technology.
Note: Tetra for 1.14+ uses the mutil/mgui library, if you're not using the curse client you'll have to install that manually.
Getting Started
- Craft a mallet using two sticks and two planks
- Craft and place a vanilla crafting table
- Right click the table with the mallet to upgrade it into a workbench
- Craft a vanilla weapon, tool shield or a bow and place it in the workbench
- Check the advancements window to learn how to progress further
Modular Items
Tetra allows you to replace parts of items with different parts of different types and materials, some parts can also be improved. Which parts you may use is limited by the items capacity, called integrity. Some parts increase an items integrity while some parts has an integrity cost. Some parts require tools of differing quality to craft.
Currently the following modular items are available:
- swords
- toolbelts
- double headed implements (axes, pickaxes, hammers etc)
- single headed implements (shovels, tridents, spears etc)
- bows
- shields
- crossbows (WIP)
Configuration
Content can be added, changed or removed from tetra using datapacks, go here for more information:
Mod compatibility
Tetra supports usage of a few materials added by other mods, since tetra uses item tags (or the ore dictionary before 1.14) it's difficult to say exactly which mods are supported. Enchantments from several mods are also supported from 1.14 and forward.
The following non-vanilla materials are supported in 1.16:
5.Quark
Quark is a fully modular mod with the objective of improving the vanilla gameplay experience. In other words, I would call it "what I would add if I was hired at mojang - the mod". Modules can be turned off and all features can be turned off individually. Some even have more in-depth configs.
Dungeon Crawl generates large underground roguelike dungeon structures.
Layout, loot and size of the dungeons are random.
Curently, Dungeon Crawl is only available for Minecraft Forge.
Sodium is a free and open-source rendering engine replacement for the Minecraft client which greatly improves frame rates and stuttering while fixing many graphical issues. It boasts wide compatibility with the Fabric mod ecosystem when compared to other mods, and it does so without compromising on how the game looks, giving you that authentic block game feel.
Looking for the latest version? Take a look at our official Modrinth page instead. Modrinth is a cleaner, faster, and easier to use website for finding and downloading Minecraft mods. Going forward, we will be focusing on releasing updates on Modrinth first, leaving the CurseForge page as a secondary mirror only.
